What We Offer

Welcome to the famous Niagara wine country in Canada; one of the best places to indulge in rich history and learn about how grapes grow, all while enjoying breathtaking scenery. The Hare Wine Co. is located on some of Niagara’s most fertile lands, where we have 10 acres of flat farmland that allows for maximum sun exposure and ripening for a variety of grapes. We carry iconic red, white, rosé, and Icewine. While our patio is first-come-first-served, we offer online reservations for a more in-depth wine tasting experience. One-On-One
Tasting Experience

Rather than jumping from winery to winery, our one-on-one wine outing will include a 30-45 minute guided experience inside our beautiful and relaxing tasting room. Our expert staff can answer any of your questions in-depth and provide you with all the time you need to decide on a custom flight of four wines. We have a selection of complex table wines and Icewines.

One-On-One
Elevated Tasting Experience

Created from our ever popular Winter-Wonderland experience, we have created a carefully selected wine pairing that will delight the taste buds. A guided experience by a tasting associate located in our Barrel Stave Room will immerse your senses and take you on a beautifully crafted wine experience.

Private Events Package

If you’re looking to host a private event, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to make your event as fun as possible in our comfortable and private tasting room.

Large Group Tasting Package

Do you have a group of 8 or more wine lovers? We can accommodate large groups in our tasting room where you can enjoy a flight of four carefully selected table wines or Icewines. One of our educated and experienced staff members will be able to assist with all of your needs and answer any of your questions whether you’re curious about the notes in each bottle or want to learn more about our estate’s riveting history.

Please note that we do not offer transportation of any kind or accept bus or bike tours, however, upon your entrance you will see there is plenty to take in and enjoy here at our winery.

Come Dine On Our Scenic Patio

Hungry? Grab a handcrafted charcuterie board or gourmet pizza and enjoy it with your favourite wine on our newly renovated patio for lunch. Each platter features local Niagara cheese and meat and other assorted goods that pair perfectly with any of our bottles of wine, but if you need a pairing suggestion, ask one of our friendly staff members for assistance. The recent Patio renovations and our new pergola were supported by the Government of Canada Through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). More About Our Niagara-on-the-Lake Small Batch Winery

John’s family has been in the winemaking industry in Europe since the early 1900s and still owns and operates vineyards in Bulgaria. The Hare Wine Co. in Niagara-on-the-Lake pays tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication the Hare family has put into their bottles of wine for 120+ years. By creating small batches at a time, we can create perfectly balanced premium VQA wine and Icewines. We grow Vidal and Riesling vines over our 10 acres of land and source other grape varieties from three trusted and local vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake. If you’d like to learn more about our vines and our antiquity in the wine scene, ask our staff! We love having our customers show interest and we absolutely love talking about delicious wine!
